The Old Mate Psychology project centred on creating a brand identity and website that challenged the traditional perception of psychology and mental health services.

Working closely with Henry, the goal was to capture a grounded, masculine aesthetic inspired by the familiarity of an old-school barbershop or a classic men’s shed. Henry’s approachable, down-to-earth personality was central to the creative direction, with the challenge being to create a welcoming environment that felt relatable rather than clinical or intimidating.

Through considered branding, dark timber tones, vintage-inspired textures and the inclusion of a distinctive rug motif, the final design established a warm, authentic identity that reflects Henry’s approach to therapy and helps make seeking support feel more comfortable and accessible.
